Becoming an East African Playgrounds Ambassador not only give you the training to help develop your skills and careers, It also gives you the chance to lead your Universities Uganda Volunteer Project team during summer 2019. This is a FREE programme that you can do alongside your studies. Our Ambassadors stand out from the crow of graduates due to the skills and experience they gain on our programme.

By volunteering with East African Playgrounds on our Uganda Volunteer Project you will experience four incredible weeks. Living and volunteering within a local community to help transform a community school by building an amazing new playground from start to finish with a team of trained Ugandan builders and welders. You will also assist on our creative play programme to inspire children at a school to learn, explore and develop themselves.

At the weekends, you’ll have the chance to explore the wonders of Uganda, from discovering the animals on safari to explore the mighty River Nile or taking a relaxing walk along the banks of the river on horseback ... there is something for everyone.

You’ll be guided by our Ugandan build team as well as the international leaders to volunteer alongside the children and community you will be impacting. The whole project comes together on the playground opening day when you will get to see your hard work in action as you celebrate with traditional singing, dancing, food and of course-playing on the new, high quality, safe, fun playground you’ve helped build.

The Ambassador programme and why you should join

Our Ambassador Scheme is an exciting opportunity that offers the chance for university students to train, lead and develop with East African Playgrounds.

If you have a drive to work hard, have fun and succeed this could be the role for you.

We’ll put you in the driving seat of one of our projects; the Gorilla Trek or Uganda Volunteer Project, taking you beyond volunteering to become an upskilled, highly experienced fundraiser and people manager (plus much more) by the end of the scheme.

Training will be delivered by a range of charity experts through online and in-person events, culminating in the recruitment of your own team of volunteers and the opportunity to go to Uganda with them in the summer.

We have partnerships at Universities all across England and Wales, so as long as you are a university student based full time in the UK and are over 18 then you are eligible to apply.
