We strive to ensure East African Playgrounds has a strong and diverse funding mix. Below are our core funding streams, which we  continually review and develop to ensure the best service and impact for our beneficiaries and supporters. We are always looking for new donors or partners, so if you are interested in supporting us please get in touch.

Funding streams

Community fundraising

Community fundraising not only helps raise much needed donations for East African Playgrounds but also raises awareness of the importance of play for children. From organising a cake sale to face painting to a wacky sponsorship event, all ideas are welcome.  If you would like to run a fundraising event then please download our fundraising pack to get started.

Corporate CSR and sponsorship

‘All work and no play’ is our corporate CSR programme which connects organisations with our projects in Uganda, providing significant benefits to the partner organisation as well as our beneficiaries. If your organisation would like to help give children the chance to play then please do get in touch to find out more about our programme.

Regular givers

Our regular givers are our core supporters, many of whom have been with us from the start. Our regular givers are vital in helping us achieve our aims and ensuring East African Playgrounds remains sustainable. If you’d like to sign up to give a regular gift, please go to our donate page.

International volunteering

East African Playgrounds was founded on the generosity of young people fundraising and coming to Uganda to help us construct our playgrounds. We run two ethical volunteering projects, the 'Volunteer project and 'The Gorilla Trek', which provide a large proportion of our core funding each year. These projects allow volunteers to experience the wonders of Uganda whilst also supporting a community.

Trusts and foundations

East African Playgrounds has been generously supported by many trusts and foundations. They have helped us continue our vital play programmes in communities across Uganda, deliver our apprenticeship scheme for former street children as well as expanding our work to refugee camps, giving child refugees from South Sudan the chance to play.

We are keen to expand our trusts and foundations programme, so if you represent a trust or foundation and are interested in supporting our work, please contact Suzie Rees on [email protected] or 07803566184

NGO partnerships

Everyone wins when we all work together. As experts in the field of play, we can inject something new and unique into any NGO partnership. We work with NGOs of all sizes, helping to give children their childhoods through play. These partnerships have been key in helping us to deliver our projects with refugee children. Working with UNICEF we have given these children a safe place to play and work through the experiences they have witnessed. If you would like to partner with East African Playground at your school, hospital or in a refugee settlement then please do get in touch.
