How to apply

To ensure the best experience for our communities and volunteers, we can only select a limited number of volunteers to come to Uganda. When applying to the East African Playgrounds, Uganda Volunteer Project, remember we are not judging you on travel or volunteering experience we are looking for passionate and committed volunteers who will make the most of the experience.

  1. Watch the Information Video and/or attend one of our Information meetings

This Information video and meeting are there to give you all the information you need to know about the project before applying to be part of the project.

  1. Fill in the application form

We are simply looking for enthusiasm and commitment, you do not need to be an experienced traveller or playground builder!

  1. Wait to hear from us

East African Playgrounds will get back to you within 5 working days to accept or decline your application

  1. Pay your £100 registration fee

Within 5 working days you will be informed if you have been accepted or not. If you are accepted on the project then you will need to pay your £100 registration fee within a week of your application being approved to confirm your space on the project.

  1. Chat with us

We then will welcome you to the project through an instant email from us welcoming you to the project and giving you instructions on how to set up your fundraising page. You will also receive a phone call from the student leader on your project within 2 working days of your signing up and a phone call from Rachel Finch, the volunteer project coordinator within 10 working days of your signing up.

  1. Let the preparation begin

Throughout the year you will have regular communication with us; fortnightly emails, session and a minimum of 2 phone calls. We are also contactable throughout the whole process; no question is ever too big or small.
