Vianka Reddy For my fourth (and final!!) year at univeristy I have decided to take on the role of challenge leader once again, but this time for East African Playgrounds.

East African Playgrounds strive to ensure every child has the right to access their childhood by bringing the gift of play to underfunded schools and refugee camps.

This summer I will go to Uganda to assist a Ugandan build team install a safe playground made entirely from recycled materials in a local school. East African Playgrounds also gives the teachers play based teacher training, allowing the children to learn in a playful environment as well as giving playground maintenance training to the community to ensure sustainability. The communities work alongside East African Playgrounds to map out the plan for the playground and help to build it so it is truly their own.

On top of this, East African Playgrounds provide vocational training for welding fabrication and catering through their skilled and highly qualified team. Giving young people not only the knowledge of the trade but also transferable work place skills, giving hope and inspiration for future success.
