Veronica Vinci Hello Everyone,
My name is Veronica and I am studying Early Childhood at Bristol UWE. In July 2018 I am going to be part of the Uganda Volunteer Project. Therefore, I am supporting their charity called East African Playgrounds, to raise £800 which are going to be put towards the construction of a playground in a rural village situated in eastern Uganda, Africa.

In the morning, I am going to be digging and physically building the playground with other volunteers and a local building team. While in the afternoon, I am going to be in class with the children, creating activities based on play with them.

I decided to become part of this experience because I believe that this project will provide a safe environment for many children and will positively impact on their cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
Not having a safe environment is really impacting in these young children lives because rather than having fun with their peers they have to go to work or help with chores at home.

It is through play that children learn about the world, develop their thinking and imagination, as well as their communicational, social and motor skills.
This project will give them the opportunity to have a place to gather together, to express themselves and enjoy their childhood, as every child deserves.

Please help me reach my fundraising target by giving whatever you can. Any donation will mean a lot to me and to these children.

Here it is a list of what you can fund with your donation:

£10 - builds a toy giraffe for the children of a community;
£15 - builds a motorbike out of tires, allowing children to engage with their creativity in roleplay scenarios;
£20 - funds safety equipment for a disadvantaged young adult, helping them to be safe as they start their employment with East African Playgrounds;
£50- builds a table with space for board games such as checkers or snakes and ladders!!

Thank you for your support.
