Kristina Nicolaou Living as a child in Uganda is hard, due to a range of things such as lack of education and resources - something that many of us in this country do not experience. Even though the idea of building a playground seems like such a simple thing that many children in the UK have easy access too, it is different for children in Uganda. Many children do not have toys of their own which they can play with at home, and many children also take on responsibilities from a young age. Therefore the reason why I have decided to help raise money for East African playgrounds is due to the fact that building playgrounds for these children means it gives them the freedom to play, whilst also developing their social and cultural skills. It may also possibly give them to opportunity to escape the responsibilities they face at home and just be children. Kristina Nicolaou
