Emily Smith Hey there!

As part of the Southampton University RAG (Raise And Give) Society, the team (including myself) are fundraising through East African Playgrounds in order to take part in a 3 week volunteer project building a playground for disadvantaged children and restoring another playground built by this non-profit organisation in previous years.

This will provide disadvantaged young people with not only key cognitive developments, social skills, and joy, but build hope and motivation for a brighter and more fortunate life for them in Uganda.

I would be very grateful if you could share your support by donating to this page and telling all your friends about it, for a very good cause that will have a massive impact on the lives of many.
I will be taking part in other fundraising activities with my University for this charity over the next few months so keep an eye out for any other crazy things i may be doing which again I would be more than grateful for any donation.

Examples of what you can fund with a donation are...

£10 - build a toy giraffe for the children of a community to play with

£15 - builds a motorbike out of tires, allowing kids to engage their creativity in role-play scenarios

£20 - funds safety equipment for a disadvantaged young adult, helping them to be safe as they start their meaningful employment with East African Playgrounds

£50 - builds a table with space for board games such as checkers or snakes and ladders!

With the £2000 I raise, £300 will go to the Ugandan Wildlife Authority to improve the conservation and the protection of the last wild mountain gorillas. £600 will go towards the project costs, such as food, accommodation and travel which goes to a non-profit trek organisation called the Home of Edirisa. Who support all the local communities we trek through, the final £1,100 will go to East African Playgrounds to help continue their fantastic work.

Many thanks for your time,

Emily Emily Smith
