Oliver Refson I have signed up with the charity East African Playgrounds to raise £2000 to help build a school for some of the most disadvantaged children in the world. Play actually has numerous benefits on children's development, and bringing it to children who do not have it is an amazing thing! It provides: physical, emotional, social and cognitive skills which will vastly improve their life not only as a child but for adulthood as well. I believe every child has right to play no matter where in the world they're born.

Examples of donations are:
£10- Builds a toy giraffe for the children of the community to play with
£15- Builds a motorbike out of tires, which allows the kids to do role play scenarios
£20- Funds safety equipment for a disadvantaged young adult, allowing them to be safe as they start their meaningful employment with East African Playgrounds
£50- Will build a table with space for board games like snakes or ladders or chess!

Any donation will mean a lot to these young children.

To raise this money I will be spending 3 weeks in Uganda taking on all sorts of terrain and hot weather before I begin volunteering to build a school playground with my friends who are joining me on this project.

Of the £2000 I raise, £300 will go to the Ugandan Wildlife Authority to improve the conservation and the protection of the last wild mountain gorillas. £600 will go towards the project costs, such as food, accommodation and travel which goes to a non-profit trek organisation called the Home of Edirisa. Who support all the local communities we trek through, the final £1,100 will go to East African Playgrounds to help continue their fantastic work. Oliver Refson
