Sophia Arnaoutis I've signed up with the charity East African Playgrounds where I will take part in The Gorilla Trek to raise £2,000 to help bring the gift of play to some of the world's most disadvantaged children. I will be trekking to find the last remaining Silverback Mountain Gorilla's as well as living and working within a local community to build a playground for a school.

Play has an incredible benefit on a child's development, I believe every child should have this opportunity as it builds physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills, whilst giving them the space in which to make sense of the world and exercise freedom of thought.
A playground is a classroom in disguise, children don't know they are learning, they don't feel like they are learning, but really they are taking in the whole world whilst playing with their friends. It’s been shown that adding play to a child’s life can lead to significantly raised IQs, greater achievement at school and even higher rates of employment and wages in adulthood (Kellock, 2015).

I want to give this gift to the children of Uganda, can you please help by donating towards my fundraising.
