Hey everyone! In August 2018 I’ll be off to Uganda alongside the charity East African Playgrounds. I’ll be there for just under a month, helping to bring the gift of play to some of the world’s most disadvantaged children. Play is vital to a child’s development, something the majority of us take for granted. It helps to build a child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills. We underestimate how important it was for our growth and maturity, as well as the long-lasting memories it creates.

Children in Uganda are often missing this important element from their childhood, and instead spend their free time out of school looking for work or helping with chores at home. By simply adding play to a child’s life it can lead to a significant increase in their IQ, greater achievements at school as well as general happiness.

This summer, I will be building a playground in a Ugandan school to help children experience the gift of play. This is something I have always wanted to do – giving and helping those who are less fortunate. So please help me, help East African Playgrounds to better the lives of disadvantaged children, and most importantly to put a smile on their faces. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it truly means a lot and will go a long way in bettering the lives of many many children!
