I've signed up to the Gorilla Trek with the charity, East African Playgrounds to raise £2,000 to help bring the gift of play to the children of Uganda.

I will be going to Uganda trek to find the last remaining Silverback Mountain Gorilla's as well as living and working within a local community to build a playgrounds for a school.

A playground is a classroom in disguise, children don't know they are learning, they don't feel like they are learning, but really they are taking in the whole world whilst playing with their friends. I will help run 'Creative Play' sessions which will be aimed at developing creativity and imagination to use in education, employment and life. This is split into Arts which will be making things out of recycled materials and Play sessions such as hokey cokey and duck duck goose. I will also help create playground equipment for the school to promote play in the future. Just as important is communicating to teachers & staff to convince them why play is so important.

I want to give this gift to the children of Uganda, can you please help by donating towards my fundraising.

Thank you!

A breakdown of where the costs go can be found at https://www.eastafricanplaygrounds.org/gorilla-trek-details

To raise money I will be competing in the Thames Meander Marathon on March 9th. I will appreciate any support possible!
