Philippa Edwards In the summer of 2019, I have signed up to volunteer for East African playgrounds' Gorilla Trek. I will be going for a three week trip to Uganda where I will trek to find the last remaining Silverback Mountain Gorilla's as well as living and working within a local community to help build a playground for a local school.
This is an amazing opportunity, for both me and the children in Uganda who will benefit from this new playground.
A playground is a classroom in disguise, children don't know they are learning, they don't feel like they are learning, but really they are taking in the whole world whilst playing with their friends. The building of theses playgrounds not only helps to give these children a childhood they deserve but it helps to make school more enjoyable in turn often increases the likelihood they will want to continue their education.
The Charity also has amazing schemes to help people within Uganda, their work scheme employs young adult males and helps to provide them with skills to help them gain employment in the future.
If you want to be a part of this adventure please donate to this amazing cause, and, if you would like to see how the money you donate will be spent there, here is a breakdown of where the costs that can be found at https://www.eastafricanplaygrounds.org/gorilla-trek-details. Philippa Edwards
