I have signed up to East Africa Playgrounds to push myself to raise £2,000 and help a charity that provides the gift of play to some of the world's most disadvantaged children. Play has an incredible benefit on a child's development; I believe every child should have this opportunity as it builds physical, social, emotional and cognitive skills, whilst giving them the space to make sense of the world and run wild with their imagination.

To raise this money, I will be spending three weeks in Uganda- taking on every kind of terrain the world can offer; including mountains, terrains, lakes and jungles. Before volunteering on a playground build myself in a school in rural Uganda.

In addition to helping under-privelged children in Uganda, as part of my journey I will be trekking through the jungle to catch a glimpse of the last remaining silver-backed mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. By partaking in this I will be donating £300 to the Ugandan Wildlife Authority to help the conservation efforts of the gorillas I will be visiting.

I have had a great passion for Uganda ever since studying it back at high school, I am very excited to learn about their culture and help make a difference in a country that has some of the highest unemployment rates in the world. I would be very grateful if you could make any donations to help me in my trek to make a difference to thousands of children's lives across Uganda.

Please donate anything you can, and help give children their childhoods.

Thank you very much.
