Justine Bates Next summer I will be travelling to Uganda for 3 weeks with fellow students from Loughborough University that have signed up to the Gorilla Trek with East African Playgrounds.

The beginning of my journey will involve trekking through the rainforest, climbing mountains and canoeing across lakes to aid the conservation of the endangered Silverback Gorillas. The rest of my trip will be spent volunteering and living with the local people, where we will help to build and refurbish playgrounds. Children who have been helped by East African Playgrounds projects benefit from higher school enrolment, better attendance and a reduction in anti-social behaviour. Since 2009, EAP have been installing playgrounds in schools and training teachers in play theory and how to integrate the playground into lessons. The more people that know about East African Playgrounds and my project the greater the impact.

Here's some examples of what can be funded with a donation:

£15 builds a motorbike out of tyres, allowing kids to engage their creativity in role-play scenarios
£20 funds safety equipment for a disadvantage young adult, helping them to be safe as they start their meaningful employment with East African Playgrounds
£25 could provide a small herd of toy animals for the children to play on
£100 could fund one-months educational play programme
£250 could give the children the best climbing frame they (or you) have ever seen

So please spread the word by sharing my fundraising page with your friends and family. Please donate anything you can and help give children their childhoods.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN!!
