Joey Gibson I have decided to sign up to East African Playgrounds Gorilla Trek, to help raise funds and build a playground in Uganda next summer. They have built over 300 playgrounds in schools, community centres and refugee settlements across Uganda. It is one of these playgrounds I will be helping to build this summer. These playgrounds are not only a vital space to have fun, make friends and play together but also they have proven to increase school attendance and enrolment, reduced antisocial behaviour and increase the perceived importance of children having their childhoods.

Money raised will also help to go towards protecting the Mountain Gorillas, of which half the population reside within Uganda. Unfortunately, Mountain Gorillas have been the victims of poaching, civil war and habitat destruction which has made it the most endangered species of Gorilla and your money will help protect the remaining habitat.

Alongside building playgrounds East African Playgrounds also run educational play programmes which increase the use of play-based teaching, resulted in deeper more connected learning outcomes. And as part of the construction of the playgrounds EAP provides a welding apprenticeship programmes for street connected young people, providing them with the skills, knowledges and experiences to create a prosperous future for themselves.

All the money below the 2500 mark will have a direct impact and go directly into the hands of those working in Uganda!

Any money given will be massively appreciated and will go a long long way!!!

Massive thanks, Joey. Joey Gibson
