Gorilla Trek

I’ve signed up to take in the Gorilla Trek 2018 with the charity East African Playgrounds. My aim is to raise £2500 in order to help improve children’s experiences at school. East African playgrounds build throughout the Country of Uganda helping disadvantaged children find fun and excitement at school. Playgrounds are integral to a child’s growth, building fundamental cognitive and physical skills as well as emotional and social skills also. Furthermore the charity also provides employment for disadvantaged young adults allowing them participate in meaningful work whilst expanding their future opportunities and prospects.

Here are some examples of how your donation could help those in need:

£10 - builds a toy giraffe for the children of the community to play with

£15 - builds a motorbike out of tires, allowing children to engage in creative role play

£20 - funds safety equipment for a disadvantaged young adult, helping them to be safe as they start their employment with East African Playgrounds.

£50 - builds a table with space for board games such as checkers or snakes and ladders.

Every penny you donate will go to the non-profit organisation to help develop East Africa and improve the lives of young people in this area. The money I raise will all go towards this amazing project. £300 will go to the Ugandan Wildlife Authority to help conservation of some of the last wild Silverback Gorillas. £1,100 will be put towards the cost of the project covering travel, accommodation and food but most will go to the Home of Edirisa, a non-profit company who support the communities we trek through. £1,100 will go directly to East African Playground to fund their incredible work.

Please donate anything you can as it will all go towards proving young East African children with not just better school experience but better life experiences also.
