Alkistis Mitsaki As a final year Psychology student, I decided to end my degree by empowering young people.

I've signed up to the Gorilla Trek with the charity East African Playgrounds to raise £2,000 to help bring the gift of play to the children of Uganda. A small amount will also go towards protecting the last remaining Silverback Mountain Gorillas and their wild habitat.

About my cause:
Article 31 of the UN Conventions on the Rights of the Child is constantly overlooked; “rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities”. Play helps alleviate the stresses of children living in poverty by allowing children learn and accept themselves and others in a fun way. In Uganda, millions of children are lacking safe and fun play spaces. This June I want to bring the gift of play to these children, by living and working in a rural community to build a playground for a local school.

Thank you for reading my page and I hope you can contribute to the fruition of this project. Any donations will be gratefully received and will make a big difference to the children’s lives in Uganda.
