Geraldine Stidston I've signed up to the Gorilla Trek with the charity East African Playgrounds to raise £2,000 to help bring the gift of play to the children of Uganda. Any additional funds raised will go towards this project.

I will be going to Uganda to take part in a trek to find the last remaining Silverback Mountain Gorilla's, as well as living and working within a local community to build a playground for a school. I will also be helping to run creative play sessions for the children.

Since 2009, East African Playgrounds has built over 300 playgrounds in communities across Uganda. A small investment of our time and funds will help to ensure the well being of the children and their future families in Uganda.

In addition to building playgrounds for community schools, East African Playgrounds helps to build playgrounds for refugee camps, as well as sponsoring ex-street children to take part in apprenticeships to give them skills for life.

In Western countries, we take it for granted that we have access to open spaces which give our children the facilities and opportunities to learn, grow and develop new skills.

A playground is a classroom in disguise; children don't know they are learning, they don't feel like they are learning, but really they are taking in the whole world whilst playing with their friends.

I want to help give this gift to the children of Uganda, please help me by donating towards my fundraising.
