Jane Halloran This summer, I will be leading a group of Leeds Beckett students to Uganda to volunteer with East African Playgrounds. We will be supporting the development of the community, by transforming an empty playing field into a safe, fun and exciting playground for children to enjoy for generations to come. Living and volunteering within a local community, we will help transform a community school by building an amazing new playground with a team of trained Ugandan builders and welders. We will also assist on our creative play programme to inspire children to learn, explore and develop themselves for a brighter future. East African Playgrounds Vision is to ensure that all children enjoy their childhoods through the opportunity to play and learn, contributing to bettering their future opportunities. East African Playgrounds Mission is to provide play facilities and play training for communities, helping children to gain the most out of their childhood. During our 2 weeks in Uganda whilst volunteering, we will volunteer alongside the Uganda East African Team to provide the young people with a safe and fun learning environment.

East African Playgrounds are a sustainable and ethical charity who support a grassroots network of development. They provide a high quality service that has a sustainable impact, meaning the money raised has a long-term, and widespread, impact. All the money raised through my volunteering will go towards the cost of the materials to build the playground, continuing their apprenticeship schemes for young Uganda.

Please support me by donating what you can to a brilliant cause, thank you so much in advance.
