Emily Hook It's strange to think that something as simple as a playground can serve as a pivotal part of a child's development. The opportunity for play is something most of us may have once taken advantage of but is what ultimately made our childhoods fun. I feel that it's unfair that kids in other parts of the world are spared of this, which is why I've chosen to take on this project.
So, in August of 2018, I hope to travel out to Uganda for 3 weeks with the ultimate goal of building a tailor-made playground for a local community. We will aim to inspire children at a school to learn, explore and develop themselves through a creative play programme. On top of this, I will take part in a 5-day Gorilla Trek, with the chance to see some of the last remaining silver back gorillas in the world as well as experiencing Uganda's natural beauty along the way.
I will be taking on various fundraising activities over the next 8 months or so in order to raise the money in order to achieve all of this. I appreciate any donations - big or small - and can't wait to be a part of such an amazing project.

Here are just some examples of what can be provided using your generous donations.
£15 - A play motorbike.
£20 - Full safety equipment for one staff member.
£50 - A board game table.
£250 - A seven-element obstacle course. Emily Hook
