Elinor Northey I've signed up with the charity East African Playgrounds to take part in their Gorilla trek and raise £2000 to give children in Uganda their childhood through play. The playgrounds are built all across Uganda, including in refugee camps. This gives some of the world's most disadvantaged children an opportunity to play, having a huge positive impact on their development.

Examples of what your donations can fund:
£10 - builds a toy giraffe for the children of a community to play with
£15 - builds a motorbike out of tires, allowing kids to engage in roleplay & engage their creativity
£20 - funds safety equipment for a disadvantaged young adult, helping them to be safe as they start employment with East African Playgrounds
£50 - builds a table with spade for board games such as snake & ladders

In order to raise this money I will be spending three weeks in Uganda - experiencing everything from mountains to jungles to lakes. I will also visit wild gorillas and then going on to volunteer on a playground build.

Every penny of the £2000 I raise will go to a non-profit charity focused on developing East Africa. The Ugandan Wildlife Authority gets £300 of the money raised, helping the conservation of the gorillas I will be visiting. £600 is towards the costs of food, accommodation & travel of the project, which goes to a non-profit trek company, the Home of Edirisia, who support the communities we trek through. The final £1100 goes directly to East African Playgrounds to fund their amazing work with disadvantaged children.

Please donate anything you can, and help give these children their childhoods. Elinor Northey
