Christina Howell Hi all,

I'm Christina and in August 2020 I will be travelling to Uganda with the charity East African Playgrounds to create a safe, fun and exciting playground for generations of children to enjoy. These playgrounds increase school attendance and improve behaviour and emotional wellbeing, impacting the whole community. I'll also assist with the educational creative play programme, inspiring children to learn, explore and develop themselves for a brighter future.

Children's education and wellbeing is something that I'm really passionate about and I've committed time to volunteering with nursery and primary age children in educational and fun activities throughout my time at Loughborough University. I would now like to take this further and support this brilliant charity's important work. Please support my fundraiser to improve the lives of Uganda's children through play.

If you're still curious, take a look at East African Playgrounds' commitment to ethics and sustainability:

• They engage with the community to design playgrounds that encompass the essence of each local community and play culture.

• Every single part of every playground that they design and install meets international playground standards.

• Every part of the playground is made from local materials, except the swing bracket (the children swing too hard!) This supports the Ugandan economy and small businesses

• Their maintenance programme trains local teams and the children on how to regularly maintain the playground. Christina Howell
