Long Seng Leong Hello everyone, thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

In August 2018 I will be travelling to Uganda with the amazing charity East African Playgrounds. As part of a team I will build a playground for some of the most disadvantaged children in the world and work with children on creative play programs. I will also be taking on the challenge to trek across various terrains from mountains to jungles.

Uganda has the second youngest population in the world yet unfortunately, many children don’t have access to the facilities that are essential for their healthy developments due to poverty. This hinders the progress of educational and youth developments as children often spend time out of school helping out at home or looking for work.

Play is a very important part of children's social, physical and mental developments and it has been classed as a right for children by the United Nations. East African Playgrounds believe that delivering exciting, safe and bespoke playgrounds is important in children’s learning of different new skills as well as empowering local communities.

Out of the £2,000 I raise:

• £300 will go to the Ugandan Wildlife Authority to help with the conservation efforts of the critically endangered silverback gorillas I will be seeing
• £600 will go towards trekking and travel costs, most of which will go to the non-profit trek company, House of Edirisa, who support the communities we trek through
• £1,100 will go directly towards East African Playgrounds to fund their ongoing work in building playgrounds for schools and refugee settlements

Any donations will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
