Alia Dhala Hello!

Later this year, on a trip organised by my university, I will be spending two weeks in Uganda with the charity East African Playgrounds to help bring the gift of play to the children of Jinja. We will be working within a local community to build playgrounds for the schoolchildren.

A playground is a classroom in disguise- play is the universal language of a child and is incredibly important for their learning, wellbeing and healthy brain development. In fact, the right to play is protected under the UN's Convention on the Rights of a Child.

Uganda hosts the fifth highest number of refugees in the world. By implementing the play and playground programme, we are helping children recover from their experiences using a language they understand- play.

Please help me to bring this gift to the children of Uganda by donating to this page, or simply sharing the link around.
