Volunteers need to cover their own expenses, and are not charged to come on project. However, we do expect our volunteers to raise a minimum of £500 to help fund the playground they will build.
Volunteers expenses will include:
- Flights These always fluctuate in cost but usually range from £400 to £700 upwards.
- Visa Around £50 for each country entered.
- Insurance We ask our volunteers to buy the highest grade of travel insurance which ranges from £70-£100.
- Vaccinations Usually around £100, we advise that volunteers consult their local GP about vaccinations needed.
- Living Costs Approximately £100 for food and lodging costs whilst on project (i.e. during weekdays). This excludes any other activities that you may want to take part in. Volunteers are free at weekends to be involved in other activities; if you wish to stay on site during that time, there is a small charge of £2 per day.
Other expenses
Other expenses depend on what you wish to do with your weekends and how long you travel for. We suggest that £300 is a suitable amount.
Fundraising for the Playground
A minimum of £500 to pay for the building of the playground.
